The Best Digital Nomad Cafes in Braşov Romania (2025)

Nestled in the heart of Transylvania, Brașov (pronounced “Brashov”) is a charming city just a couple hours north of Bucharest, where rich medieval history meets modern culture. Its colorful architecture, quaint streets, and lively cafés create a perfect blend of old-world charm and lively energy.

If you are planning a workation in Brașov and are not sure where to work from or if the internet is reliable enough? This guide has you covered!

I spent 2 weeks in this city which I absolutely loved and would definitely recommend to anyone to spend a few days here. I had been traveling around Europe, living my best hot girl summer, but needed a place to unwind and turned to quaint central Romania for some small town relaxation.

While working from home is fine, sometimes you need a change of air, so here are a few friendly digital nomad cafes options where I went and highly recommend you to work from during your stay in Brașov. They are in order of preference.

Perfect for those looking to get some work done or simply chill out, this café offers a calming atmosphere with Shakespeare-themed decor and gentle instrumental music—the ideal combo for a relaxing afternoon. It’s incredibly laptop-friendly, the service is excellent, and it’s easily my top pick in town!

Rebecca, the manager, was always ready with a smile and friendly chat. I really liked this place as it never felt like they were trying to free up tables and it is clearly designed to encourage customers to stay awhile. Drinks were reasonably priced, food was varied enough, and there were a variety of seating options. Plus the location is very central to the old town!

Located in the heart of Brașov, this charming specialty coffee shop invites you in with its minimalist, sleek decor—perfect for settling in for a few hours. They’ve made great use of the space by transforming the attic into a cozy seating area. Once you’ve finished sipping your freshly brewed coffee, don’t forget to stop by the cute gift shop next door, and take a moment to admire the nearby Black Church.

Fun fact: It houses one of the largest and most historically preserved organs in the world!

I’m sad I discovered this place so late into the two weeks stay in Braşov. It has a much more modern feel compared to Shakespeare, and I saw multiple university students and business people working here. The community table and upstairs space also leant themselves well to working. Like Shakespeare, CH9 is very centrally located, just across from the Black Church.

If club music is what gets you in the genius zone, head to “Inside” to get a work session in place. This small cafe has most of its tables located outdoors, like many restaurants in the old town.

There are, however, 3 tables inside where they take full advantage of the powerful aircon and the boisterous sound system. I love the house music genre and really any kind of electronic music, but I realize this might be quite distracting for many people.

So if your laptop is charged and the weather’s nice, you might prefer the outdoor seating, where you can enjoy a view of Mount Tâmpa as your backdrop. Inside is strictly a cafe, so don’t come here expecting a huge menu, they mostly feature brunch for food items along with coffee and alcohol.

This welcoming bar is a great spot to socialize over drinks—its menu is impressively extensive—or to settle in for a few hours of work. It’s very laptop-friendly during the day, offering a quiet atmosphere for focused sessions.

I particularly enjoyed the extensive drink menu which featured specialty coffee, three pages of teas, four pages of juices, and of course lots of specialty cocktails. Of the five venues in this article, they had by far the biggest menu.

By night, the space transforms with a vibrant cultural agenda featuring everything from book launches and film screenings to live concerts. Be sure to check their schedule so you don’t miss the chance to connect with both locals and travelers!

This alternative spot, which proudly claims to have “probably the largest collection of Romanian craft beers in town,” is definitely worth spending some time in. While it’s primarily a beer bar, you’re more than welcome to work on your computer during the day.

The vibe is great both day and night, but it’s especially well-suited for daytime work (keep in mind it opens from 12PM). The space is roomy, featuring a lush outdoor area and quirky indoor decor, with plenty of tables equipped with power outlets.

If you come in the afternoon like I did, be aware that the restaurant really kicks off from sunset, but you should stay for the great food and extensive beer menu. Fun fact for beer lovers: they’re part of the Untappd community!

I was impressed by the concentration of very work friendly cafes. In much of the Balkans, finding smoke-free, good wifi-equipped cafes that you want to spend any extended stay in is difficult. And to find so many lovely spots in Braşov, just made the visit all that much more enjoyable. I will definitely return!
