A person is walking on a misty beach scattered with transparent ice chunks; distant icebergs and foggy air convey a serene, cold atmosphere.

If you’ve ever visited this site over at any point since it originally launched in 2015, things might be looking quite a bit different now. Over the past few months, I have been quietly and methodically overhauling the design, structure, and behavior of this website and late last year I launched a new venture at www.createwithnomad.com.

NomadPhotographer has been an on-again-off-again project for me since I began a nomadic lifestyle in 2015 when I quit my stable job in Washington, DC to travel the world. I posted regularly when I was on the move in over 20 countries for the first two years, but once I found a home and regular work on a tiny island in Thailand, I found it difficult to stay motivated in my storytelling and scheduled updates. And while I adore the stories I’ve told and the photos I’ve taken, I never found a very compelling way to share that with you in a format I enjoyed.

Fast forward a few years and I have now had more experience creating quick, modern websites with bold photography and engaging designs. I have created a custom web theme family that ties my brands together. I collectivally call them NomadBranded – my work that I create while living my life around the world. I’ve adopted a new logo mark to capture my passions – the sea, the earth and the way I view them. You’ll see three slightly different colorways for the logo depending on which subbrand you are visiting.

My first new business is NomadDesigner, which can be found at createwithnomad.com, is the culmination of many years of freelance graphic design in websites, print media, and social media curation. It is the home of my design portfolio and will act as a resumé for future work.

NomadPhotographer, which can be found here at nomadphotographer.com, will continue to be my primary storytelling medium with a focus on big beautiful images, engaging stories, and lots of useful information for other travelers.

The Destinations link in the navigation bar is a completely new way to find out where I’ve been and to find lots of great stories and information about each country. On every destination page, you’ll find 6 categories of information including my favorite cell carrier SIM cards, recommended smartphone apps, currency, languages spoken and more. I also highlight recent articles I’ve written, suggested itineraries, and my favorite photos. More destinations will be added as I fill out information about each country. Be sure to check in often.

The Blog page houses all my archives from previous iterations of this site and all new articles. Individual posts have received a facelift featuring larger images and new layout options. Coming later will be a special type of blog post for my Photo Stories. These photo-centric posts will highlight immersive images and minimal text to tell a story through my pictures.

My third and final brand is still under development. But I can say to watch this space for an announcement by early 2022 at the latest. I look forward to bringing you more great content with a new focus on this upcoming site.

Thank you for checking in on me all these years. It’s been a roller coaster for so many over the past two years and in my unexpected excess of free time, I hope I’ve created something new and engaging to bring some beauty back into the world.

All the best, Logan.
